Join us for The Soul of Medicine in the Last Year of Life: Novel Solutions to Palliative Care Access Across Economic and Cultural Divides, a multidisciplinary symposium focused on solutions to optimize the balance between biomedicine and the humanistic and culturally sensitive care of individuals with advanced disease or at the end-of-life care.
Expert speakers and abstract submissions will address the power and limits of health policy, Integration of palliative care into universal health coverage: aspirations and evidence, and changing the culture of public health, biomedicine and communities . The final day will be focused on identifying novel and feasible solutions across economic and cultural divides.
The symposium will consist of three half days with presentations, and panel and group discussion. Attendees and speakers will be asked to consider what evidence and advocacy are needed to affect meaningful change in the quality of life of individuals with cancer in the last year of life, and their quality of dying and death.
