Bill joined Kensington Health Centre October, 2000, as the founding Executive Director. He brings a combination of private sector and not-for-profit experience and is currently responsible for the day to day operations of Kensington Gardens and Kensington Hospice, including marketing, technology, purchasing, human/ labour relations resources as well as business development, new projects and strategic planning for the organization.
He is a Certified Long Term Care Administrator, receiving his designation in 1996 from the Canadian Healthcare Association. Mr. O’Neill has worked in the healthcare field for 30 years and in senior management for the past 25 years. Mr. O’Neill has an educational background in both Social Services and Human Resources, and Administration, attending, Ryerson University, University of Waterloo, George Brown College and Humber College., and has completed certificate programs at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and York University Schulich School of Business.
Mr. O’Neill currently serves as Vice President of the Ontario Long Term Care Association, as well; he contributed to Toronto Central LHIN, Palliative Care Strategy published March 2014, and currently sits on numerous committees both internal and external. He is also a founding member of the Global Institute of Psychosocial, Palliative and End-of-Life Care, (GIPPEC) collaboration between UHN (PMH), U of T and Kensington Health Centre. The main goals of the institute include research, education, and knowledge mobilization.
